The School Day

A day in the life of Little Stoke Primary School!

We have a great variety of events, presentations, activities and lesson types at Little Stoke.  The learning needs of the pupils and the structure of the curriculum topics dictate all the different things that will take place through the week in school.  We may have outside speakers come to visit the school for our inspiration assemblies, outside learning opportunities, Forest School sessions, expert PE coaches taking dance or gym sessions, visits from local industry and Spanish instruction. We have many parents and volunteers who come into school to support reading.

However, we also have some structures that remain the same every day. These are set out below;

8.45-8.55am – Arrival at school

9.05am – Register closes

9.05am – 9.35am – Phonic sessions (Key Stage 1)  Grammar and Spelling (Key Stage 2)

9.35am – 11.00am – Reading and English session

11.00am -11.20am – Playtime

11.20am -11.35 am – Maths Reasoning

11.35am – 12.30pm – Maths teaching session

12.30pm – 1.30pm – Lunchtime – throughout the week a range of sports clubs will run from 12-12.30pm.  On Thursdays and Fridays specialist sports coaches organise team games on the playground.

1.30pm – 3.25pm/3.30pm Afternoon teaching session

3.25pm – End of the day for Reception, Y1 and Y2.

3.30pm – End of the day for Y3 to Y6.

After school clubs change throughout the year but will include activities such as football, tag rugby, multi-sports, basketball and futsal.
