Becoming a School Governor.
New Governors Needed!
Are you interested in joining our team of committed and interested governors? Before you consider applying you may just want to know a bit more about what is involved.
Governors, who are unpaid volunteers, need not be experts in the field of education. What they do need is an understanding of the school within the local community, the needs of our children as well as the time and willingness to get involved. The skills you may have could be very useful to the governing body. At the moment the governing body is looking for new governors, who share the vision of the school, to join the existing team that act as ambassadors. If you are someone who is prepared to spare the time and provide support in this way please consider applying.
Governors also need certain skills – the ability to be able to build relationships with a range of people, to be able to work as part of a team, to be able to question, and to make connections between different types of information. All governors are expected to be able to read straightforward reports on a variety of school issues.
If you are interested in contributing to your child’s school in this positive way, please contact Dan Ross in the first instance or email our friendly Chair of Governors, Scott Pells on firstname.lastname@example.org to register your interest and ask any questions you may have.
