Updates

EYFS starters 2023

I would like to extend a very warm welcome to all families who have a child joining us at Little Stoke in September 2023. We welcome those of you who already have children in school and those of you who are joining us for the first time. All our friendly staff are looking forward to meeting your child and we know that this is just the start of an exciting journey of learning and discovery!

As well as the induction evening we will hold a  Teddy Bear’s picnic induction event.

Do give us a ring or email if you need some urgent questions answered before September.

Best wishes,

Mr Dan Ross

(Headteacher)

Below are the key documents which have been shared with parents for your reference.

Key dates:

Thursday 22nd June at 5.30pm: main induction session for all parents (parent only session)

Wednesday 12thJuly: Teddy Bear’s Picnic sessions and these are designed so your child can have the space and time to explore the classroom (you will have been contacted about timings for this – please contact the office if you do not know your time)

Starting school, for most children, will take place over a few weeks in September.  The transition into school setting needs to be carefully planned in order to support a positive start to life in school.  Even if your child has attended a setting previously, this period of transition will enable our staff to get to know you child well and for the children to begin to build social relationships with staff and peers alike.

  • From Monday 4th – Friday 8th September we will visit parents with their children at home. Your child will not attend school during these days. These are friendly, brief visits to your home and have proven to help transition from home to school for most children.  We will arrange these visits with you during the Induction sessions and Teddy Bear’s Picnic.
  • Your child will start coming to school on a part-time basis between Monday 11th and Friday 15th September.
  • From Monday 18th – Wednesday 20th September – all children will be in together on these days but for shorter days, 9:00am-1:15pm.
  • From Thursday 22nd September all children will attend school full time, every day.
